Susannah Way

Susannah creates jewellery using silver, gold and pewter, often combined with non-precious materials, from her workshop in Wiltshire. Her current work focuses on nature, particularly the flora and funga of the forest. She is particularly interested in the preciousness of mushrooms. The mushroom is an everyday item we take for granted, but is unexpected in so many ways. Its underground network, mycelium, works with trees in a mutually beneficial way to provide each other with precious nutrients. Some of her jewellery is figurative and at times it becomes more abstract and conceptual.

She graduated with a BA (hons) in Designed Metalwork & Jewellery at BCUC in 2003 and later gained a distinction for her NAG Gemstone diploma.

Susannah has exhibited at Craft Festival Cheltenham and Handmade Oxford. She had her “Freedom 90” trinket box featured in Pewter Live’s Freedom Exhibition at the V&A and two pieces from her Mycelium collection in the Verdant Bodies Exhibition (Amory Arts Center, Florida), both 2022..
