Dawn Gear

Working from her home studio in The New Forest, Dawn creates contemporary jewellery inspired by her garden and assisted by her two cats!  With a background in silversmithing she is drawn to making contemporary and unusual earrings in particular, whilst experimenting with new techniques and materials.

Her current focus is on exploring the intricate art of silver filigree - a traditional technique that is both complex and rewarding.  The delicate and lacy metalwork lends itself well to her earring designs, being both lightweight and eye-catching. The addition of gold highlights, oxidation or semi-precious stones add another dimension to her contemporary take on an ancient craft.
