Dawn Gear

This jewellery is created at my home studio in The New Forest, inspired by my colourful garden and assisted by my two cats!  

Constantly trying new techniques and materials to combine with my love of silversmithing, I particularly love making contemporary and unusual earrings.

I am currently experimenting with fabric techniques in wire, using crochet, lace and knit with either sterling silver or enamelled copper.    The wire creates modern, lightweight, fun earrings in a wonderful range of colours.  It also allows for more sculptural and dramatic three-dimensional shapes, and can be combined with silver and semi-precious gemstones.

I love the opportunities new materials give to expand design opportunities, add colour and texture to my jewellery.

I have recently been accepted to sell online with The British Craft House, showcasing handcrafted and original designs from all over Great Britain.
