Candida Matterson

After a recent MA in Jewellery and after 35 years secondary school technology teaching I returned to making. Potentially the serious aspects of my job in education or perhaps close contact with teenagers for so long a period, coloured my current work themes which all end up with an element of whimsy.

I am drawn to create playful elements within the pieces I make. Often this involves movement and tactile, hopefully touchable surfaces. I play with surface texture and my aim would be to sponsor an interaction between the observer and the piece. _________________________________
